Biographical Information[edit]

Reggie Rivard pitched in the minor leagues and for Team Canada.

Rivard began his professional career with the Texas Rangers organization in 2000, and he was 3-2 with a 5.73 ERA for the GCL Rangers that season. He went 5-4 with a save and a 3.26 ERA for the Savannah Sand Gnats in 2001, finishing 5th in the Rangers system with 44 games pitched. He was 3-0 with a save and a 2.17 ERA for the Port Charlotte Rangers in 2002. Rivard then recorded a 4.86 ERA in 31 games for the Frisco RoughRiders in 2003 (0-1, Sv), and he allowed 5 runs in 6 1/3 innings for the AAA Oklahoma RedHawks (0-1). He went to the Milwaukee Brewers system in 2004, and he notched 3 saves with a 2.33 ERA in 17 appearances for the High Desert Mavericks. He also pitched 22 games with a 6.55 ERA for the Huntsville Stars, and he surrendered 2 runs in 2 innings for the Indianapolis Indians.

The Edmonton native was 7-5 with a 5.56 ERA for the Edmonton Cracker-Cats in 2005, and he represented Canada in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, allowing two runs (one earned) in 6 2/3 IP. [1] He improved to 5-5 with a 3.96 ERA in 2006 and walked only 9 in 63 2/3 innings, but his ERA rose to 8.29 in 24 games in 2007. Rivard then went 4-1 with a 6.15 ERA in 2008 for the Calgary Vipers, and he pitched 123 games with a 5.62 ERA and a 3-3 record in 2009. He went 5-1 with a 3.97 ERA in 2010 (throwing his only career shutout), and he retired.

Overall, Rivard was 41-34 with a 4.93 ERA, struck out 439 and pitched 674 innings in 11 seasons as a professional player.
