Biographical Information[edit]

Ray Lindsay pitched 11 years in the minors (1937-1952), losing four years to the Military and one to inactivity. A late bloomer, he was born 5 December 1907 at [[Sevier County, TN] and broke into Organized Ball at the age of 29 in 1937 with Newton/Conover in the North Carolina State League. He played with the North Carolina State League (1937-1941;1946); the Carolina League (1946-1947); and the Western Carolina League (1948-1949;1951-1952). He played his last game with Hickory in the Western Carolina League in 1952 at the age of 44. He served in the Military four years during WW II (1942-1945) (MLS).

He had a remarkable ratio of strikeouts to walks (1,904 to 490) and was 154-98 lifetime.
