Bill Lee (author)
Bill Lee, is a baseball enthusiast, history researcher and author of The Baseball Necrology.
Born as Bill Oswald in Kansas, he was adopted by J. Louis Lee after his father's premature death. He was raised in California, has also lived in Arizona, Utah and Missouri, and currently lives in Harlingen, TX. He is a member of the Society for American Baseball Research.
A pioneer in automated information systems, he designed, programmed and managed computer-based systems for nearly 30 years, leaving his paying job as Director of Information Systems for a multinational electronic component manufacturer in 1987.
Since 1987, Bill and LaVonne Lee, his wife of over thirty years, have been working together as self-employed history researchers. Doing this work, they have traveled all over the United States working as professional genealogists, as well as accumulating a wealth of information on baseball players and family names related to both of them. This effort has produced not only The Baseball Necrology but also 31 copyrighted books of public record abstracts available to the public.
The Lees now plan to spend less time traveling and doing research. They have accumulated a great deal of information they are compiling into more books to be offered to other researchers.
