Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Phil Geisler spent eight seasons in the minor leagues, including part or all of four at Triple A.
He was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 9th round of the 1991 amateur draft, two picks ahead of pitcher Jon Lieber, and began his pro career that year. He reached Triple A for the first time in 1994 and remained in the Phillies system through 1995. In 1996 and 1997, he was in the New York Mets system, and in 1998, he played in the Florida Marlins, Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates chains.
Overall, he batted .247/.316/.369 with 56 home runs and 349 RBI in 805 games.
He later became a scout for the Seattle Mariners, signing -- among others -- Lance Beus, Austin Bibens-Dirkx, Troy Cate, Jeff Heaverlo, Justin Leone, Kam Mickolio, Eric O'Flaherty, Aaron Pribanic and Matt Tuiasosopo.
