Biographical Information

Aaron Pribanic made his professional debut in 2008 and pitched untile the end of the 2012 season, without reaching the majors. He is a grandson of Jim Coates.

Pribanic was 2-1 with a 3.88 ERA and 54 K in 48 2/3 IP as a college freshman in 2006 following a redshirt in 2005. In 2007, he was 6-1 with a 3.33 ERA. Transferring to Nebraska Lincoln, he posted a 3-4, 4.72 record in 2008. He became the first Nebraska hurler to toss complete games in his first two starts since Aaron Marsden in 2003. The Seattle Mariners took him in the third round of the 2008 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Phil Geisler and made his pro debut that summer.

For the 2008 AZL Mariners, Aaron struggled, allowing 8 runs on 8 hits and 5 walks in 4 2/3 IP, going 0-1. He started 2009 with the Clinton Lumber Kings, going 7-6 with a 3.21 ERA and only one homer allowed in 87 innings. He was then traded with Ronny Cedeno, Brett Lorin, Jeff Clement and Nathan Adcock to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Ian Snell and Jack Wilson.

He threw a fastball (timed at 93 mph at its peak) and used a sinker.
