Biographical Information[edit]
Patrick McGuff played college ball at Sinclair Community College and Morehead State University. He graduated from Morehead in 2016 with a degree in University Studies. McGuff was then drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 36th round of the 2016 Amateur Draft and he spent 2016-2017 playing in their minor league system. The next two seasons were split between independent league teams and the minor league teams for the Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Following the conclusion of his playing career, McGuff joined the college coaching ranks at the University of South Carolina Upstate as a volunteer assistant coach. He worked with the Spartans from 2020-2021. In 2022 the Milwaukee Brewers hired McGuff as a development coach for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. He jumped two levels and served as a bullpen coach for the Nashville Sounds in 2023. McGuff returned to the Sounds in 2024 as bullpen coach, but took over pitching coach duties on June 27th to replace pitching coach Jeremy Accardo who left for a job with the Arizona State University Sun Devils.
