Biographical Information[edit]

Pat McAnaney pitched in the Arizona Diamondbacks system from 2008 to 2010. He was drafted three times, initially by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 28th round of the 2004 amateur draft (ahead of outfielder Charlie Blackmon), then by the Pirates in the 38th round of the 2007 amateur draft. The Diamondbacks took him in the 8th round of the 2008 amateur draft and he signed.

Between the South Bend Silver Hawks and Yakima Bears in 2008, McAnaney went 4-2 with a 0.89 ERA in 13 games (10 starts). He moved to the Visalia Rawhide in 2009, going 10-8 with a 4.41 ERA in 28 starts. He earned California League Mid-Season All-Star honors that year. In 2010, he was 9-10 with a 4.72 ERA in 27 starts between Visalia and the Mobile BayBears. He peaked at Double A.

Overall, McAnaney went 23-20 with a 4.01 ERA in 68 games (65 starts). In 337 innings, he allowed 350 hits and 126 walks, while striking out 333 batters.
