Biographical Information

Nick Venuto was a minor league pitcher who became a scout.

Venuto was taken by the Oakland A's in the 9th round of the 1988 amateur draft. That summer, he was 3-4 with a 8.41 ERA for the Southern Oregon A's, allowing 67 hits and 22 walks in 40 2/3 IP. In 1989, he went 3-1 with two saves and a 4.89 ERA in 26 games for Southern Oregon, walking 25 in 46 innings. He finished his pro career with a 6.54 ERA.

Venuto then was a Houston Astros scout, signing Josh Anderson, Jack Armstrong, Jr., Conrad Gregor, Jacke Healey, Chad Reineke, Tom Shirley and Jack Shuck.
