Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Chad Reineke was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 13th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Nick Venuto and made his pro debut that summer.

Reineke was sent to the San Diego Padres just before the trading deadline in 2008 in return for veteran left-hander Randy Wolf. He was called up to San Diego a few days later when Chris Young was placed on the disabled list with a strained right forearm, and made his debut on August 16th, taking Young's turn in the starting rotation. He picked up the win by giving up 3 runs in 5 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies.
