Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Nick Regilio was selected by the Texas Rangers in the second round of the 1999 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Bobby Heck and made his pro debut that summer with the Pulaski Rangers. He reached the AAA level briefly in 2002 but missed most of the 2003 campaign due to a shoulder injury. He made it to the majors with the Rangers in 2004 and earned his first big league win against the Chicago White Sox on May 16, 2005. However, his 2005 campaign was cut short by an elbow injury. He was released by the Rangers the following spring and did not play pro ball for the next two seasons.
Regilio signed with the Houston Astros organization prior to the 2008 season and spent the year with the Round Rock Express. He was signed by the Detroit Tigers prior to the 2009 campaign and began the season with the Toledo Mud Hens.
