Bobby Heck

From BR Bullpen

Bobby Heck has been a scouting director.

Heck was an area scout for the Texas Rangers from 1995-1999. From 2000-2007, he was Eastern Scouting Supervisor for the Milwaukee Brewers. He helped scout Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks prior to Milwaukee drafting them. In October 2007, he joined the Houston Astros as Scouting Director. His picks included Jason Castro, Jordan Lyles, J.D. Martinez, Dallas Keuchel, Delino DeShields Jr., George Springer and Carlos Correa. However, he was dismissed following the 2012 season by new General Manager Jeff Luhnow, being replaced by Mike Elias. He then movbed on to the Tampa Bay Rays as a special assistant to the General Manager.

When the Astros returned to the postseason in 2015 after years in the wilderness, Heck was remembered as one of the builders of the club; 11 of the 25 players on the team's postseason roster had been drafted during Heck's tenure. many of his picks were also used in trades to acquire other members of that team.
