Biographical Information[edit]

Mitchell Lambson pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Lambson was 9-5 as a college freshman, setting a ASU freshman record with 99 K. He went 8-2 with a 2.16 ERA as a sophomore and tied the school record for appearances (38). He was all-Pac-10 Conference. As a junior, he fell to 7-4, 4.31 with 9 saves; his 102 career games pitched tied for second in school history. [1] He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 19th round of the 2011 Amateur Draft, and he went 2-6 with two saves and a 4.33 ERA for the Tri-City ValleyCats in his first season. He was 2-1 with a 2.72 ERA for the Lexington Legends in 2012, then he had a 8-3 record with a 3.03 ERA for the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2013. Lambson was 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA for the Lancaster JetHawks in 2014, and he also recorded a solid 1.36 ERA in 23 relief outings with the AA Corpus Christi Hooks. He had a 1.26 ERA in ten outings in the Arizona Fall League. His ERA was 2.60 in 11 games with the Hooks in 2015, and he also had a 2.60 ERA in 13 appearances for the AAA Fresno Grizzlies

The Astros traded Lambson to the Atlanta Braves for cash in July, and he had a 1.08 ERA in 12 games with the Mississippi Braves. The Milwaukee Brewers then selected him in the AAA portion of the 2015 Rule V Draft. Lambson went 2-0 with a 4.15 ERA for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in 2016, and he also had a 4.26 ERA in 8 games for the Biloxi Shuckers. He signed with the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2017, and he was 7-8 with a 3.98 ERA. He had a 8-6 record with a 3.81 ERA for the Goldeyes in 2018, and he also went 5-4 with a 5.86 ERA for the Pericos de Puebla.

Lambson improved to 13-4 with a 3.11 ERA for the Goldeyes in 2019, and he also went 3-1 with a 1.35 ERA for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He led the American Association in wins, and he was 2nd in strikeouts (2 behind Austin Wright) and 5th in ERA. He was named the circuit's All-Star starting pitcher. [2] He was 4-4 with a 4.82 ERA in Winnipeg in 2020, then he announced his retirement. After coaching student baseball in Arizona for a year, Lambson came back and went 8-9 with a 3.60 ERA with the Blue Crabs in 2022. He was 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA for them in 2023, and the Wei Chuan Dragons signed him. Lambson went 5-3 with a 3.19 ERA in 2023, but the Dragons didn’t bring him into the 2023 Taiwan Series. He pitched for the Saraperos de Saltillo in 2024.

Lambson’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 86 mph), changeup and slider.

There is some disagreement about his place of birth depending on the source. According to Baseball-Reference, MILB.com, and Baseball America, he was born in Montclair, CA, while his college bio, ESPN and TCDB list Claremont, CA. In addition to the names of the two cities sounding very similar, they are also next to one another in the greater Los Angeles, CA metropolitan area.
