Biographical Information[edit]
Min-su Kim has been a catcher in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Kim represented South Korea in the 2012 Asian Championship. He was 0-for-3 against Pakistan, and he went 0-for-1 against Chinese Taipei. Korea won Bronze in the event. He also played for Korea in the 2013 East Asian Games, winning a Silver Medal. The Hanwha Eagles selected him in the 2nd round of the 2014 KBO draft, and he had a .149/.182/.162 batting line in 35 games in his rookie year. The Samsung Lions then selected him as the compensation for the loss of free agent Hyuk Kwon, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service. Kim still struggled in the first two years after his return, and he only hit .143/.182/.191 in 2017 and .167/.167/.167 in 2018.
The Daegu native played 29 games in 2019, but his batting line was .205/.220/.231. He then spent most of the 2020 season in the minors, and he finally got some chances in 2021 as Min-ho Kang injured. Kim played a career-high 47 games, and he crushed 3 homers with a .263/.318/.447 batting line. However, when the Lions signed free agent catchers Tae-gun Kim and Jae-seong Kim, Kim completely lost his spot, and he only got 9 at-bats combined in the next three seasons.
