Biographical Information[edit]
Min-jae Shin played in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Shin was signed by the Doosan Bears in 2015 after going undrafted, and he hit .245/.360/.282 in the minors in the '15 season. He then missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he was selected by the LG Twins in the second draft in 2018. Shin was used primarily as a pinch-runner in 2019, and he hit .235/.323/.272 with 10 steals in 81 games. He hit .308/.400/.346 in 2020, but he only went 3-for-23 in 2021 and he was demoted to the minors. Shin stayed there for most of the 2022 season, and he only played 14 games with the big club.
The Incheon native finally broke out in 2023, and he secured the starting second baseman spot. He hit .277/.344/.309 with 37 steals, and he was 2nd in steals (2 behind Soo-bin Jung). Shin was 4-for-20 in the 2023 Korean Series, and he won his first title as the Twins beat the Kt Wiz in 5 games. Shin was still a solid player in 2024, and he recorded a .297/.401/.357 batting line in 32 steals. He was 7th in steals, tied with Ji-hoon Choi and Min-woo Park. He then made it onto Korea's roster for the 2024 Premier 12.
