Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Michael Fagan began his pro career in 2014.

As a high schooler at San Diego Jewish Academy, Fagan was 11-3 with 181 strikeouts in 2008 and was named Citrus League Player of the Year. He repeated that honor in 2009, when he was 5-2 and whiffed 103 in just over 45 innings. The San Diego Padres took him in the 45th round of the 2010 amateur draft, but he went on to college instead. Following college, Fagan was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the ninth round of the 2014 amateur draft. He signed and made his pro debut that summer with the AZL Athletics, appearing in 2 games before being promoted to the Vermont Lake Monsters.
