Biographical Information

Luis Ortiz coached for Panama in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. As of 2010, he was a scout for the Atlanta Braves, listed as the International Area Supervisor for Panama. He signed Christian Bethancourt, Gerald Chin, Randall Delgado, Dimasther Delgado, Ibrahim McKenzie, Andy Otero, Carlos Sanchez and Jorge Zavala. He managed Panama in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers; they qualified for the 2023 World Baseball Classic, their first World Baseball Classic since his 2009 coaching stint.
