Chin was better yet in the 2017 Central American Games, producing at a .450/.522/.700 clip in the round-robin phase with 8 runs and 9 RBI in five games. He was 5th in average (between Ofilio Castro and Omar Obregón), tied Andrés Aguilar and Muñoz for second in hits (9, one behind Juan Colato), led in runs (by one), was second in slugging (.062 behind Colato), was second in RBI (one behind major leaguer Cheslor Cuthbert), led in triples (2) and was second with 14 total bases (2 behind Colato). In the Gold Medal Game, he hit 3rd and drove in Muñoz in the first with a hit off former major leaguer Wilton López; he was 2 for 4 as a bright spot for Panama in a 3-1 loss to Nicaragua. [4]
