L'Amour Lansang Arurang

Biographical Information[edit]

L'Amour Arurang was on the Palauan national team that won Bronze in the 2011 Pacific Games. In his debut, he relieved Royce Sadang in the 6th with a 10-1 lead over Fiji. He began by striking Joeli McGoon. He walked Tavo Sorovakatini but retired Emosi Gotegote and whiffed Noa Delaivuna. He allowed a hit and a walk in the 7th but no runs as Palau won with the mercy rule. He then turned in a fine start to beat Guam, which had won Gold their prior two appearances; he allowed two runs (one earned) in seven innings (4 H, 1 BB, 2 K) to beat Paul Pangelinan. In the semifinals, he relieved Sadang in the 5th with a 5-0 deficit, two on and one out against the Northern Mariana Islands. He escaped that jam by retiring Eric Tenorio and striking out Keoni Lizama. He worked the last four innings, giving up seven hits but no walks and three runs (two earned) but Josh Jones was blanking Palau to eliminate them. His 1.98 ERA was 10th in the Games. He was also 10th in IP (13 2/3) and tied for 3rd in games pitched (behind Jones and Sanail Colainima). [1]
