Sanail Colainima
Biographical Information[edit]
Sanail Colainima was on the Fijian national team in the 2011 Pacific Games. The teenager started at first base in the opener, batting 5th. He drew a walk from Daniel Va'a his first time up and went 1-for-3 on the day. He started on the hill and lost to Palau and Carter Kahue. He then tossed a great game against champion Northern Mariana Islands, battling Elton Santos and Joshua Jones in a 2-1 pitching duel; he took the loss. A day later, he got the ball for the 5th/6th place game and went the distance again, throwing 101 pitches over 8 innings (9 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 7 R, 4 ER) in a 8-7 win over Pemerika Mahuka.
He finished 1-2 with a 4.37 ERA, working 22 2/3 of his team's 40 2/3 innings! He was second on the team in ERA, 1.16 behind Emosi Gotegote. He fielded .964 and hit .118/.211/.118 with one RBI in six games. He was second in the event in IP (1 1/3 behind Jones), tied Jacques Levy and Freddy Cepeda Jr. for 7th with 9 Ks, was second with four games pitched (one behind Jones), led with three starts, tied for first in losses (with Mahuka, Kalson Dulei and Sébastien Lepouriel) and led pitchers with two pick-offs.
