Biographical Information[edit]

Kun-Che Lee played in the CPBL for 11 years.

Lee was signed by the Uni-President Lions when they were founded in 1990, but he never got a starting spot with the Lions. He hit .284/.315/.345 in 1990, then recorded a .331/.357/.399 in 1994. That were the only two seasons he had more than 50 at-bats in his 7-year Lions career, and the Lions released him after the 1996 season. The Chinatrust Whales picked him up, and Lee had his career year in 1997. He recorded a .297/.365/.394 batting line with 17 doubles, and he attended the 1997 CPBL All-Star Game; he was 0-for-1. He also won the CPBL Most Improved Player Award. Lee hit .259/.331/.330 in 1998, then he had a .306/.388/.381 batting line in 1999. He batted .214/.267/.214 in the 1999 Taiwan Series, and the Whales were beaten by the Wei Chuan Dragons in 5 games. After hitting .243/.241/.297 in 2000, Lee announced his retirement and he became a coach. He was the batting coach for the Whales from 2007 to 2008, and he started to coach Kaohsiung University in 2012.

Overall, Lee hit .275/.336/.351 with 271 hits and 49 doubles in 11 seasons in the CPBL.
