Biographical Information[edit]

Konstantin Teufel debuted for the Austrian national team at age 17. His brother Matthias Teufel played college ball in the US. [1]

He allowed seven runs and seven walks in four innings in the 2017 European Junior Championship Qualifiers, losing to Ukraine. [2] He went to Germany to develop his baseball skills. [3] In the 2019 European Championship, he made one appearance, relieving Christoph Vanas in the 3rd with a 7-0 deficit against Spain, on on and one out. He allowed a double to Leomartires Rodriguez and walked Daniel Martinez but Edison Valerio lined into a double play. In the 4th, he hit Oscar Angulo and Jesús Ustariz hit into a run-scoring error. He recovered to strike out Javier Monzón and get former major leaguer Fernando Martínez on a fly, but Yancarlo Franco singled to make it 9-0. He then got another K, against Royals farmhand Omar Hernández. He was not as sharp in the 5th. After Rodriguez grounded out, he walked Daniel Martinez, Valerio and Angulo to load them up. Fabian Hirnschal took over and all three runners scored to give him a 13.50 ERA. It was not Austria's highest in the event, as Ryan Rupp, Moritz Scheicher and Hirnschal were higher. [4] As of 2021, he had not yet played in Germany's Bundesliga-1.
