Keokuk Hawkeyes

The Keokuk Hawkeyes joined the Western League partway through its first year, 1885, replacing the Omaha Omahogs. Keokuk played in Sportsmans Park except on Sunday, when they appeared in Crystal Glen Park. The club went 3-3 before the WL folded for the year, then the Hawkeyes barnstormed for a month. The most notable player was Bud Fowler, the first African-American minor league player.
