Biographical Information[edit]
Ted Kennedy pitched a couple of years in the major leagues, but became more famous as an inventor and manufacturer. He invented an early type of glove, and a tutorial survives where he instructs the reader on how to throw the curveball. He eventually sold out to Al Spalding's company.
In addition to his playing career, he worked one National League game as an umpire in 1893.
He died after being shocked while experimenting with a burglar alarm.

He would presumably be on the bearing-a-famous-name team, along with George Washington, another player bearing the name of a politician.
