Kankakee is located in northeastern Illinois, on the Iroquois River, 55 miles south of Chicago, IL.
Teams from Kankakee have appeared a number of times in the Little League World Series: they were the first team from Illinois to appear at the event, in 1950; they reached the finals in 1958 and again in 1962; and their most recent participation came in 1966.
