Julian Martinez played in minor leagues and Taiwan.
Martinez was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1985, and he hit .194/.242/.274 for the Johnson City Cardinals in his first year. His batting line was .258/.351/.309 for the Savannah Cardinals in 1986, then he hit .227/.306/.333 with them in 1987. Martinez recorded a .251/.333/.325 batting line for the St. Petersburg Cardinals in 1988, and he collected 30 doubles with a .255/.296/.395 batting line with the Arkansas Travelers in 1989. He was 3rd in doubles in the Texas League, tied with Tim McIntosh and Juan González. Martinez reached AAA in 1990, but his batting line fell to .214/.313/.300 with the Louisville Redbirds. He stayed in Louisville in 1991 as his batting line was .226/.335/.363, then he struggled in 1992 and he recorded a .165/.234/.246 batting line with the Travelers. Martinez left the Cardinals system after the 1992 season.
After leaving the minor leagues, Martinez joined the China Times Eagles in 1995, and he hit .270/.324/.302 in 56 games. He played 62 games with a .272/.356/.364 batting line for the Massachusetts Mad Dogs in 1996, and he signed with the Taichung Agan of the TML in 1997. However, Martinez only played 3 games for the Agan, then he left the team and returned to the Mad Dogs; his batting line was .277/.353/.404 there. Martinez stayed in Taiwan in his last year as a player, and he had a .296/.309/.407 batting line for the Uni-President Lions.
Overall, Martinez hit .284/.328/.339 with 52 hits in 3 seasons in the CPBL and TML.
