Juan Vallecillo
Juan Manuel Vallecillo (Jagüita)
Juan Vallecillo was a member of the Nicaraguan national team for over a decade.
He played for Nicaragua in their first tournament, the 1935 Central American and Caribbean Games; they won the Bronze Medal. They got another Bronze in the 1938 Central American and Caribbean Games. In the 1940 Amateur World Series, he led all players with 10 RBI and his four doubles tied José Pérez Colmenares for the lead. He helped Nicaragua to a Silver Medal, their highest finish ever in an Amateur World Series (they won other Silvers).
He also played in the 1941 Amateur World Series, getting one of Nicaragua's only two wins on the mound. He played in the 1945 Amateur World Series as well. In the 1947 Amateur World Series, his error at third base cost Nicaragua the title to Colombia in a 4-3 loss in the finals. He also played in the 1948 Amateur World Series.
