Josmir Romero pitched in the minors leagues, the CPBL and Serie A1.
Romero began his professional with the Minnesota Twins, and he spent 1998 with VSL Montalban. He went 5-3 with a 3.22 ERA for the GCL Twins in 1999, walking only 7 in 67 IP. He tied for 9th in the Gulf Coast League in wins He went 5-2 with a 4.48 ERA for the Elizabethton Twins in 2000, and he was 7-7 with a 4.44 ERA for the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2001. Romero then went 1-3 with a 2.68 ERA for the River Bandits in 2002, but his ERA rose to 4.20 with a 6-3 record after he advanced to the Fort Myers Miracle. He was 2-2 with a 2.40 ERA for the Miracle in 2003, and he also went 2-5 with a 5.37 ERA for the New Britain Rock Cats. The Twins released him after that season.
After leaving the Twins chain, Romero went 4-2 with a 4.59 ERA for the Guerreros de Oaxaca in 2005. He had a 3.02 ERA in 14 games for the Tigres de Aragua in the winter, and he also appeared in the 2007 Caribbean Series (going five shutout innings to beat Willie Collazo and the Gigantes de Carolina). The La New Bears signed him in 2007, but he only pitched 2 games for them with a 4.00 ERA. Romero was 5-2 with a 5.10 ERA for the Cariparma Parma in 2008, tying Luca Martignoni, Nelson Cruz, Mike Natale and Sandy Patrone for 9th in wins. Following that season, his professional career ended.
