Biographical Information[edit]
Jin-ho Jeong played in Korea Baseball Organization for 8 years.
Jeong was drafted by the Samsung Lions in the first round of the 1983 KBO draft, and he hit .215/.316/.308 in 43 games in 1983. He improved to .291/.327/.330 in 44 games in 1984, then he had a .261/.337/.389 batting line in 70 games in 1985. Jeong only played 6 games in 1986, then he was released. The Chungbo Pintos picked him up, and Jeong hit .250/.327/.321 with 2 homers in 104 games in 1987.
He recorded a .255/.319/.303 batting line in 1988, but he slumped to .216/.293/.253 in 1989. Jeong's batting line was .282/.356/.330 in 46 games in 1990, then he retired. He was a coach for the Pacific Dolphins from 1989 to 1995, the defense coach for the Hyundai Unicorns from 1996 to 2001 and the bench coach for Hyundai from 2002 to 2006. He was also the bench coach for the LG Twins from 2007 to 2009. Jeong later coached Yonsei University from 2011 to 2012, but he was arrested in 2012 because he took bribes for the entrance exam of the school, and he was fired. He also coached for the South Korea national baseball team in the 2003 Asian Championship and 2006 Asian Games.
Overall, Jeong hit .252/.325/.319 with 261 hits and 6 homers in 8 seasons in the KBO.
