Biographical Information

Jeff Livesey played in the minor leagues from 1988-1995. A light-hitting back-up catcher, he failed to reach .200 in 1990 or 1992 and barely topped .200 in 1989. He spent parts of three seasons at AAA. He is the son of Bill Livesey and the brother of Steve Livesey.

Livesey later coached and managed in the minors. He was a coach for the Harrisburg Senators in 1996-1997, Lynchburg Hillcats in 1998, Altoona Curve in 1999-2000, Nashville Sounds in 2001, Lynchburg again in 2002-2003 and Nsahville again in 2004 [1]. Livesey was bench coach for Marty Brown when Brown managed the Hiroshima Carp from 2006 through 2009 then followed Brown to the Rakuten Golden Eagles in 2010. He returned stateside in 2011-2013 as the Pittsburgh Pirates' minor league hitting coordinator. In 2014, he was promoted to assistant hitting coach with the major league team, staying until the end of the 2018 season. In 2019 he became assistant hitting coach of the Miami Marlins, but on April 19th, with the team's hitters off to a brutal start, he was promoted to hitting coach in place of the fired Mike Pagliarulo. He was let go at the end of the season. Livesey returned to Harrisburg as hitting coach in 2024
