Biographical Information[edit]

Isaac Herrera debuted for the Ecuadorian national team in the 2024 South American Championship. In his lone outing, he relieved Marco Viteri with no outs in the first, a 1-0 deficit and two on against Peru. He settled things down, getting Andrés Hamamoto to hit into a run-scoring double play and retiring former minor leaguer José Salas. He struck out Liam Arakaki to open a 1-2-3 second then pitched shutout ball in the 3rd and 4th. He tired in the 5th, getting one out and being charged with three runs (two earned); Javier Wong took over. His line was: 4 1/3 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. While he only pitched the one game, he finished third on the team in IP (after Jeferson Hernández and Keiver Cordero) and K. [1]
