Ian Delamarre has pitched in the Netherlands.

Biographical Information[edit]

In the 2011 European Cup, the 17-year-old tossed two shutout innings, allowing one hit (to Juan Pablo Angrisano) in a relief outing against Fortitudo Bologna. In the 2011 European Junior Championship, he had a 2-0, 2.08 record for the Netherlands, beating both France and the Czech Republic; the latter victory came in the Gold Medal game to give the Dutch the title. At the plate, he was 2 for 5. He was second in the event in opposing average (.174), 9th in ERA and tied for first in wins.

He did not pitch for the Amsterdam Pirates in the 2011 Hoofdklasse regular season, but was still called on in a crucial role in Game Two of the 2011 Holland Series. He relieved Ben Grover in the 6th with a 4-4 tie against the Vaessen Pioniers. He went 1-2-3 in the 6th, retiring Mervin Gario, Zerzinho Croes and Jefferson Muzo. In the 7th, he allowed a single to Mike Duursma, a sacrifice bunt to Mark Duursma and a RBI single to Nik Gumeson to put the Pioniers ahead. He came back with a scoreless 8th after Amsterdam tied it. In the 9th, he allowed a leadoff hit to Croes, a sacrifice bunt to Muzo and an intentional walk to Mike Duursma. Rik Geestman relieved him and allowing a losing single to Mark Duursma, handing Delamarre the defeat.
