Biographical Information[edit]
Hyun Yang followed his brother Hoon Yang into the Korea Baseball Organization.
The Doosan Bears took him in the 10th round of the 2011 KBO draft. He was 0-1 in 2011, with 8 hits, 3 walks, 3 runs and 2 whiffs in 5 innings. He did not appear again in the top level until 2015, when he had a 5.23 ERA in 13 games. He did not walk any in 10 1/3 IP but allowed 19 hits. He then served out his military service with the Sangmu Phoenix team.
In the 2017 Asian Championship, he was with the South Korean national team that won Bronze. In his lone outing, he did well against Silver Medal winner Taiwan. Relieving Geon-wook Lee with one out in the 6th of a scoreless duel, he pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings (0 H, 0 BB, 1 K) before Chae-heung Choi took over.
