Biographical Information[edit]
Hao Zhang pitched for the Sichuan Dragons [1] before joining the Chinese national team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He debuted in their blowout loss to South Korea, relieving Hailong Sun with a 18-2 deficit in the 5th. He walked Ji-hoon Chi, got Hae-min Park on a liner, then walked Hy-seong Kim and Byung-ho Park to load the bases. Changlong Su took over and let all the runners in on a grand slam. His other outing came against Australia; down 10-2, he relieved Yuchen Wang in the 6th. He walked Aaron Whitefield and allowed a Jake Bowey single. Logan Wade hit into a run-scoring force but he escaped further harm by retiring Robbie Perkins and Andrew Campbell. [2]
