Biographical Information[edit]

Grant Kerry has played for the Great Britain national team.

Kerry was born in Hong Kong to British parents and moved to Kuwait when he was 9 years old. He began playing baseball there at age 10 then moved to Australia at age 16 for boarding school. In 2019, he played in Canada. [1] He was 5 for 26 with 6 walks for Boise State in 2020 when the season was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic. The school then canceled their baseball program, possibly ending his collegiate baseball career shortly after it had began. [2]

Transferring to Northwest Nazarene University, he had a big year in 2021 at .361/.441/.621 with 52 RBI in 45 games, winning Great Northwest Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and leading the team to the 2021 Division II College World Series. [3] Given his British ancestry, he then played for Britain in the 2021 European Championship. He hit 6th and started in right in their opener versus France. He struck out against Owen Ozanich his first time up, but then hit a two-run single the next to drive in Kent Blackstone and Gabriel Rincones Jr. He added a 7th-inning homer off Franklin De La Rosa with Shamoy Christopher aboard for a 4-RBI debut for the British Lions. In five games, he hit .316/.381/.526 with seven RBI, while handling 12 chances error-free in the field. He led Britain in RBI (two ahead of Kent Blackstone) and was third in OPS (after Aaron Singh and Kennard Dawson). [4]

Back at Northwest Nazarene for 2022, he batted .294/.349/.529 with 10 homers in 51 games.
