Biographical Information[edit]

Glenn Rediger spent five years in the minor leagues, playing in eight different leagues from 1953 to 1957.

He began his career as an 18-year-old in the Cleveland Indians system, suiting up for the Green Bay Bluejays of the Wisconsin State League in 1953. That year, he hit .175 in 40 at-bats. In 1954, he played for the Pauls Valley Raiders (Sooner State League) and the Tucson Cowboys (Arizona-Texas League), hitting a combined .274 with 16 home runs and 22 doubles in 104 games. With the Vidalia Indians of the Georgia State League in 1955, Rediger hit .296 with eight home runs and 19 doubles in 103 games.

In 1956, playing for the Fargo-Moorhead Twins (Northern League), New Iberia Indians (Evangeline League) and Port Arthur Sea Hawks (Big State League), he hit a combined .257 with 15 home runs in 131 games. He wrapped up his career in the high-average Southwestern League in 1957, hitting .316 with 33 home runs, 28 doubles, eight triples and 137 hits in 119 games for the Carlsbad Potashers. He finished second in the league in home runs (behind Raymond Patterson), third in total bases, fifth in doubles and seventh in slugging (.645).

Overall, Rediger played 476 games and hit .283 with 467 hits, 88 doubles, 14 triples and 72 home runs in his career.
