George Andrews, a dual citizen of the US and Greece, played for the Greek national team in the 2016 European Championship. In his debut, he relieved Andy Orfanakos in the 5th with a 12-0 deficit against Italy. He had a strong inning, retiring Giuseppe Mazzanti, Mattia Mercuri (strikeout) and Jairo Ramos Gizzi then Greece got two runs in the bottom of the inning. in the 6th, he allowed two runs thanks to an error by the shortstop following three walks. He opened the 7th with back-to-back walks then fanned Marco Sabbatani. Angelos Argyropoulus relieved and let both inherited runs in. The next day, he batted for Joey Vreonis and struck out against Leslie Nacar. He finished the event 1-for-6, getting a hit off Daniel Cooper and drawing a walk from Antonio Horvatić.
