Biographical Information

Relief pitcher Garrett Parcell pitched as high as AAA.

He was taken by the Seattle Mariners in the 41st round of the 2004 amateur draft. Parcell had a 4.74 ERA and five saves as a college freshman then went 2-2 with a save and a 4.74 ERA as a sophomore. Transferring to San Diego State, he missed 2006 due to injury. In 2007, he was 1-0 with a 6.52 ERA. Despite that, he was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 12th round of that year's amateur draft. Robby Corsaro was the scout.

Pitching for the 2007 Jamestown Jammers, he went 4-1 with six saves and a 1.24 ERA in 22 relief appearances, striking out 36 batters in 36 1/3 innings of work. The following year, he went 0-2 with a 3.49 ERA in 29 games for the Greensboro Grasshoppers, saving 17 matches. He tied Henry Mabee for 7th in the South Atlantic League in saves.

In 2009, he pitched for the Jupiter Hammerheads (3 G, 1-0 W-L, 2.25 ERA) and Jacksonville Suns (23 G, 0-0 W-L, 0.25 ERA), going a combined 1-0 with a save and a 0.44 ERA in 26 games. He allowed only a .136 batting average. With the Suns in 2010, he was 5-7 with a 3.36 ERA in a Southern League-leading 53 games. He split 2011 between the Suns (3 G) and New Orleans Zephyrs (36 G), going a combined 3-2 with a 4.19 ERA in 39 games.

He began the 2012 season with the Suns, but after posting a 7.62 ERA, 0-1 record and 1.85 WHIP in 10 appearances, he was released and latched on with the independent Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League, with whom he went 1-2 with a 4.32 ERA in 24 relief appearances.

Overall, Parcell went 14-15 with a 3.18 ERA in 203 games over 6 seasons.
