Biographical Information[edit]

Federico Gómez was a minor league infielder for two years.

Gómez was signed by Atlanta Braves scout Rolando Petit in April 2011. He hit .198/.319/.208 for the 2011 DSL Braves, backing up Daniel Castro at 2B and also backing up at 3B. He was on the Argentinian national team that won the Gold in the 2011 South American Championship. In 2012, he batted .226/.294/.226 for the DSL Braves to end his minor league career with a .205/.314/.212 batting line, 11 runs and 7 RBI in 53 games. He fielded .860 in 24 games at 3B and .982 in 18 games at 2B. In the 2012 South American Championship and 2013 South American Championship, he was on two more Gold Medal-winning Argentinian entries. He played for Argentina in the 2015 South American Championship as well.

He was on Argentina's team that won the Silver Medal in the 2016 South American Championship. He batted .296/.367/.519 with 8 runs and 5 RBI in 7 games. In the first round, he tied for 5th with 7 hits, tied Ronald Luna and Steve Brown for 7th in average (.389) and tied Eduardo Zurbriggen and Luna for 7th in slugging (.611).
