Biographical Information[edit]

Evgeny Podyapolskiy has played for the Russian national team.

He played for Russia in the 2008 World Junior Championship. [1] In the 2009 European Junior Championship, he hit .214/.450/.214 and went 4-for-5 in steals. [2] He batted .182 in the 2012 European U-21 Championship. [3] In the 2014 European Championship, he was a bench player for Russia. He got into two games. Against the champion Dutch national team, he replaced Makshim Shevchenko in left in the 5th inning. He drew a walk from former minor leaguer Arshwin Asjes in the 7th and fanned against Kevin Kelly in the 9th of a 12-1 loss; he had one putout. In his other game, he pinch-ran for Ivan Kornev in the 6th with a 9-0 deficit and scored on a Victor Samchuk double to break up the shutout. He stayed in at right field and handled one putout. Viacheslav Vasilyev batted for him in the 8th. [4]
