Biographical Information[edit]

Esequier Pie pitched six years in the minors, then went overseas.

Pie debuted with the 2001 DSL Marlins and spent three years with them. In 2004, he was 2-2 with a 3.98 ERA for the GCL Marlins, followed by a 1-5, 5.13 record for the same club in 2005. In 2006, he had a 2-3, 5.32 record for the Jamestown Jammers.

In 2007, Pie moved to the new Israel Baseball League and was 3-3 with a 3.11 ERA for the Ra'anana Express, striking out 62 in 46 1/3 innings but walking 42. He threw two no-hitters, including the IBL's first.

In 2008, Pie moved to the Bundesliga in Germany, signing with the Haar Disciples. He was the third player from the 2007 IBL to sign with Haar, following Adalberto Paulino and Nate Fish. In his debut, he got the start in a key match-up against the Mannheim Tornadoes and won, fanning 12 in 7 2/3 IP while allowing two hits and two runs. Control remained a problem as he walked six.
