Team History[edit]
The Edmonton Capitals were a team in the independent North American League, based in Edmonton, Alberta. They began their existence in the Northern League as the Edmonton Cracker-Cats. The Cats then moved to the Golden Baseball League in 2008, accompanied by the neighboring Calgary Vipers, and changed their name to the Capitals in 2009. The team then moved to the newly-formed North American League for the 2011 season, along with a number of other Golden League teams.
