Biographical Information[edit]
Gord Gerlach of St. Albert, AB, played for the amateur Edmonton Tigers in 1978-1979. [1] He was a utility man for Team Canada in the 1981 Intercontinental Cup. [2]
He coached for Canada in the 1998 Baseball World Cup [3] and when they won Bronze in the 1999 Pan American Games; it was their baseball medal in the Pan American Games. [4] He also coached for them in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. [5] He was hitting coach for the 2002 Vancouver Canadians. He then coached for Canada again in the 2003 Baseball World Cup and 2005 Baseball World Cup. [6] He managed the Perth Heat to the 2008 Claxton Shield title. [7] He was hitting coach of the Edmonton Capitals during 2010 then succeeded Brent Bowers as skipper. [8]
