Donald Furrow pitched in the independent leagues from 2008 to 2011. His twin brother, Jason Furrow, has played in Organized Baseball.

Biographical Information[edit]

High School[edit]

Furrow was San Antonio Player of the Year as a junior in high school.

Collegiate[edit]

He went on to junior college, where he was All-Conference as a freshman. He transferred to Texas Christian University for 2006 and went 2-0 with two saves and a 3.21 ERA. In 2007, though, he faded to 3-1, 7.03.

Minors[edit]

The Australia native spent the summer with the independent Texas Heat in the Continental Baseball League, and then split 2008 between the McKinney Blue Thunder (2-0, 1.76) and St. George Roadrunners (1-0, 9.32). In 2009, he was 1-0 with a 7.59 ERA for the Coastal Kingfish, walking 14 in 10 2/3 innings.

Donald started the 2010 season with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association where he had no record and no saves through 27.1 innings of work with 28 strike outs and 10 walks.

Normal CornBelters (Frontier League)[edit]

After being cut by the Saltdogs on July 8, 2010, Furrow signed with the Normal CornBelters on July 16.

Furrow made his first appearance out of the bullpen for the CornBelters on July 16 against the Southern Illinois Miners. Donald pitched 3 innings giving up no hits and no runs while walking none and striking out 4 hitters.

Furrow earned his first save of the season on August 3 against the Evansville Otters. He came in to pitch the last 2 innings in relief for Andrew Guarrasi. He gave up one hit and no runs while striking out 2 to preserve an 8-1 inning.

Donald picked up his first win of the season on August 8 against the Gateway Grizzlies. Coming in to relieve in the 6th inning, Furrow pitched 3 innings of shut-out ball giving up a single hit and striking out 1.

Furrow finished the 2010 season with a 3-3 record, 2 saves, and a 2.56 ERA.
