Biographical Information[edit]

Collegiate[edit]

Andrew Guarrasi pitched for the New York Institute of Technology Bears in the Great West Conference. Andrew was named to the First Team of the 2010 Great West All-Conference Baseball Team. Guarrasi had a 4.34 ERA with an 8-3 record, throwing 4 complete games in 13 starts. He recorded one save. In 87 innings pitched, Andrew struck out 91 and walked 33.

Normal CornBelters (Frontier League)[edit]

The Normal CornBelters signed Guarrasi on June 22, 2010.

In his first appearance for the CornBelters, Andrew pitched 2.0 innings in relief against the Oakland County Cruisers on June 29. He walked one, struck out one, gave up one hit, and no runs in his outing.

In his first stint as a starter, he only pitched 2/3 innings on July 24 against the River City Rascals. He took the loss giving up 6 runs, all earned, on just 3 hits and 2 walks.

On a hot summer night at the Corn Crib on August 3, Guarrasi pitched a gem against the Evansville Otters, going 7 innings of no-hit baseball, surrendering just one unearned run with 7 walks and 5 strikeouts. Jason Furrow earned the save to give Andrew his first win of the season.

Guarrasi finished the 2010 season with a 2-3 record and 5.83 ERA while striking out 35 and walking 24 in 12 appearances, 8 as a starter.
