Don Mitchell has been a player, scout and agent.
Mitchell signed with the Cincinnati Reds out of college. He hit .197/.295/.279 for the 1982 Eugene Emeralds while fielding .926 at the hot corner. A year later, he appeared for Eugene (1 for 5, BB; 5 R in 8 2/3 IP) and for the Billings Mustangs (.214/.254/.429 in 18 games, 9 of his 12 hits going for extra bases; he backed up Joe Oliver at catcher).
Mitchell was a scout for the Reds, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks (Scouting Director for them from 1995-1999). He signed Reggie Sanders. He then went to work as an agent; among his clients have been Chris Seddon and Laynce Nix.
