David Ibn Ezra has played for the Israeli national team.
Ibn Ezra was in the Israel Defense Forces. [1] He came to the US for college, hitting .216/.310/.216 as a freshman and improving to .260/.377/.313 as a sophomore. [2] He was on an international team in college, as they also had players from Germany, Australia, Venezuela, Canada, the Dominican Republic and the US. He played fairly regularly for Israel in the 2021 European Championship (Israel competes in European events due to anti-Semitism keeping them out of local competition. Debuting as the starting left fielder and #8 hitter versus Russia, he was 0 for 3 against former Twins farmhand Andrei Lobanov before Ophir Katz batted for him. He was 0 for 8 entering the Gold Medal Game, with a walk from Angelo Palumbo. In that contest (Israel already having won their first medal in an international tournament), he pinch-hit for Ivri Margolin in the ninth but grounded out against former Orioles minor leaguer Wendell Floranus.
