Biographical Information[edit]

Angelo Palumbo has pitched in the Dominican Republic and Italy and for the Italian national team.

Palumbo was signed by Baltimore Orioles scouts Fred Ferreira, Calvin Maduro and Jesús Alfaro in December 2012. [1] He was 0-3 with a 7.61 ERA and 1.94 WHIP for the 2013 DSL Orioles 1. He was with the same club in 2014 and was much sharper (2-5, Sv, 1.95 ERA, 1.18 WHIP). He also played for the 2015 DSL Orioles 1 (2-5, 3.48) and 2016 DSL Orioles 1 (1-6, 3.47 ERA, 12 BB in 59 2/3 IP).

Signing with Bolzano in the Italian minors for 2018, he was 6-3 with a 1.70 ERA and 142 K in 100 2/3 IP. He did not make the top 10 in Serie A2 but was 5th in strikeouts. [2] He then made Italy's team for the 2018 Super6. He got the start against Belgium and did well (5 1/3 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 4 K) before Rene Mazzocchi relieved. He allowed one run, scoring after he had left. He allowed the lowest average in the inaugural Super6 (.158, .021 ahead of Diegomar Markwell) and finished the event 4th in ERA (between Orlando Yntema and Lowuin Sacramento). [3]
