Biographical Information[edit]

David Harriman played three seasons in the minors.

Harriman hit .326 as a sophomore at Taft College then transferred to Armstrong Atlantic State. He was All-Peach Belt Conference in 2001. As a senior in 2002, he set a single-season NCAA Division II hitting streak by connecting in 41 straight games. He finished the year at .412 with 14 homers and 69 RBI. He not only was All-Conference, but was tabbed as the All-American catcher for Division II. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 17th round of the 2002 amateur draft.

In his pro debut, Harriman split catching duties (with John Suomi, John Baker and Jed Morris) for the Vancouver Canadians in his native British Columbia. He hit .234/.289/.286. He split 2003 between Vancouver (8 for 47, 7 BB) and the Modesto Nuts (.244/.278/.319 in 33 G). In his final season, 2004, he was 9 for 29 with a triple and two walks for Vancouver and batted .242/.319/.344 in 54 games for the Kane County Cougars, fielding .997 as their #2 catcher.

Overall, Harriman had a batting line of .238/.304/.312 with 7 home runs, 46 runs and 46 RBI in 147 minor league games. He played 122 games at catcher and fielded .993 with 20 passed balls, throwing out 22% of attempted base-stealers. He played one game at third base, making an error.
