Biographical Information[edit]
Jed Morris was the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year in 2002 with the University of Nebraska. He helped lead the Cornhuskers to consecutive College World Series appearances in 2001 & 2002. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 36th round of the 2002 Amateur Draft. He played for seven seasons in the Athletics organization. From 2009-2010, he played for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League.
In 2013, he became the head baseball coach for Eastern University, staying through 2018. He added minor league coaching to his resumé with the AZL Padres 1 in 2018-2019. Morris was scheduled to return to the AZL Padres in 2020 before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the minor league season. He was then a hitting coach for the ACL Padres in 2021-2022, Lake Elsinore Storm in 2023, and Fort Wayne TinCaps in 2024.
