Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Dave Huppert appeared in 17 games across two seasons with the Baltimore Orioles and Milwaukee Brewers. His lone hit in the majors was a single off Joe Niekro on October 1, 1985.
Since his playing career ended he has managed in the minors for almost three decades. He was a member of the Washington Nationals coaching staff in 2005. The next year he became skipper of the Lakewood BlueClaws, who won the South Atlantic League Championship in their first season under his leadership. After leading the Clearwater Threshers to a Florida State League title in 2007, he became the first manager of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2008. In 2011 he returned to the Florida State League to manage the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
